Sebastian Pereira

I was born and raised in sunny San Jose, CA but have since lived and worked in Los Angeles, Madrid, New York City, and now San Francisco. My prior experience includes Interior Design, Project Management and Events, all of which exist around a central idea: people. Whether they be clients, vendors, internal cross functional collaborators, social media audiences, people are everything I love about these fields as they relate to my role in identifying and working through problems and assessing their needs.

The year was 2023. My first snowstorm in NYC. Stuck inside. Unsure about my career trajectory. Yet another early 20’s existential crisis. And then I stumbled upon parody UI/UX designer Soren Iverson’s twitter. Here’s an example..

Soon enough, I embarked on the Google UX Design Certificate course from Coursera and my world was forever changed! Though I am at the beginning stages of life as a UI/UX designer, there is no better affirmation in embarking on a new career path than eagerly waiting to get home from my corporate PM job just to hop on my laptop, put on music and design until bedtime. I am well aware that work will not always be fun and games but it is damn fun to feel inspired what I am doing for the first time.

Outside of designing, I prefer to spend most of my time outside, whether that be hiking in the Sierra Nevada, plunging into the Pacific, dancing around the park with friends or simply journaling in my backyard while the birds sing and leaves waltz in the wind... have I mentioned I find solace in romanticizing life?
